Giovanni Battista DeFilippi

Giovanni Battista DeFilippi (born July 8, 1940 in Barone Canavese , Piedmont , Italy) is an Italian priest and judge of the Roman Rota .

Life

Giovanni Battista DeFilippi received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Ivrea on June 29, 1964 after his philosophical and theological studies .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on December 20, 1993 as auditor (judge with the rank of prelate ) of the Roman Rota (Tribunal Rotae Romanae), which has its seat in the historic UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Palazzo della Cancelleria . In 2015 he retired.

Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano appointed him in 1999 and 2005 as an advisor to the Collegio di Conciliazione e Arbitrato i Signori ( Labor Office of the Apostolic See ).

DeFilippi is the lead author of the 2016 book Il bonum coniugum. Rilevanza e attualità nel diritto matrimoniale on the Catholic marriage law.
