Giovanni Battista Draghi
Giovanni Battista Draghi (* around 1640 in Rimini ; buried May 13, 1708 in London ) was an Italian organist , harpsichordist and composer .
Life
Draghi worked at the English court from 1675, among other things as music master of King Charles II and as teacher of the later queens Mary II and Anne . He was believed to be a brother of the composer Antonio Draghi .
He created a number of works of vocal music (including the Cäcilienode in 1687 with instrumental accompaniment in the Italian style "Song for St Cecilia's Day" ) as well as chamber music for various instruments, including six suites for harpsichord for teaching purposes. Most of his works are lost.
