Giovanni Corsi (singer)
Giovanni Corsi (* 1822 in Verona ; † April 4, 1890 in Monza ) was an Italian opera singer ( baritone ).
Life
Corsi made his debut at the Teatro Canobbio in 1844 . In 1844 he was appointed primo baritono at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan , where he was engaged until 1870. He was best known as a Verdi singer. In 1856 he sang Rigoletto at the Théâtre-Italien in Paris , but also appeared in the title role of Gaetano Donizetti's opera Marino Faliero .
From 1873 to 1876 he was a professor at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory .
