Gisela Kieselstein

Gisela Kieselstein (born April 5, 1930 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German puppeteer . In 1963 she founded the Kieselstein puppet theater together with her husband Dieter .

Life

Gisela Kieselstein has been involved with puppetry since her early youth. Before and during her professional training (state examination as a kindergarten teacher and after-school teacher in 1953) she attended puppetry courses with Heinrich Maria Denneborg and later seminars at the " German Institute for Puppetry ". She designs and sews all costumes, textile accessories and decorations in the Kieselstein puppet theater. She attaches particular importance to clear, simple shapes and colors. In the plays of her theater she mainly takes on the female roles and plays animal figures. The couple Gisela and Dieter Kieselstein gave courses at various educational institutions.
