Life
Giselbert von Warendorf emigrated from Warendorf / Westphalia to the newly founded Lübeck . He is considered to be the progenitor of the Lübeck family of Warendorf A in contrast to the other council family of Warendorf B , who immigrated from Münster and whose progenitor Burchard von Warendorf is considered to be. The first mayor of the von Warendorf B family was Hermann von Warendorf (No. 305 of the council line).
During his reign as mayor, he was Lübeck's envoy to Friedrich I. "Barbarossa" (1122–1190)
