Giulio Antonio Bonasone
Giulio Antonio Bonasone (* early 16th century in Bologna ) was an Italian engraver .
It was formed after Marcantonio Raimondi and flourished around 1531–1574. Its numerous sheets (over 354) with biblical, mythological and historical content based on Raphael , Michelangelo , Primaticcio and others often suffer from volatility and incorrectness, especially in the backgrounds and accessories, but are conceived in a painterly spirit and have contributed significantly to the further development of the art of copperplate engraving .
