Giuseppe Mascara (born March 24, 1979 in Caltagirone ) is an Italian football player .

Career

Mascara has played for US Avellino , Palermo , Genoa , AC Perugia and Catania Calcio , where he was one of the protagonists in the promotion to the Serie A was. The 2006/07 season was not perfect for the striker, after several dismissals and suspensions, he got into the season slowly, which he ended satisfactorily.

On March 1, 2009, Mascara gained attention beyond Italy with a “goal of the century” from around 50 meters. In the Serie A US Palermo game against Catania Calcio, which ended 0: 4, he volleyed a header flank a few meters after the center line and sent it into the opposing goal with a high bow.

In February 2011, Mascara moved to SSC Napoli , where he signed a contract until the end of the 2011/12 season. Since January 2012 he has been playing for Novara Calcio .

On June 6, 2009 Mascara made his debut under Marcello Lippi in a 3-0 win in the friendly against Northern Ireland in the Italian national team .
