Gláma (mountain range)

The Gláma is a mountain range in the southern West Fjords of Iceland .

It lies between the wide fjord Ísafjarðardjúp and the Breiðafjörður . There was also a glacier there until the 20th century, which is why it was called Glámujökull . But this has now completely disappeared. At the highest point the mountain range reaches a height of 920 m.

As a plateau, the Dynjandisheiði is a western extension of the Gláma. The Gláma is crossed by the pass road of the same name . This is part of Vestfjarðavegur S60 .
