Smoothing factor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The smoothing factor G , also known as the absolute stabilization factor, indicates the ratio of the absolute voltage change at an input of a two-port to the absolute voltage change at the output.

In the case of a diode with a differential resistance , this becomes:

.

The quality of a voltage stabilization is indicated by the smoothing factor and the stabilization factor. The greater the ratio , the better the stabilization .
