Glarus News

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Glarner Nachrichten was a local newspaper for the Swiss canton of Glarus with the subtitle “Tagblatt und Anzeiger für das Glarnerland”.

The publication organ was founded in 1884 by the politician David Legler and was intended by him as an opposition newspaper. The Glarner Nachrichten replaced the newspaper Der Freie Glarner , launched in 1875 . The Glarner messages were editor in chief Rudolf Tschudi (1905-1937) for the largest newspaper in the canton.

For many years there was a collaboration with the local newspapers from the neighboring regions March , Höfe and Gaster , including the March-Anzeiger . Most recently, the daily newspapers appeared with a common layout and the subtitle "LinthPresseZeitung" until they were replaced in 2000 by the label Südostschweiz .
