Glashäger Brunnen GmbH is a German mineral water company from Bad Doberan . The products are offered under the brand name Glashäger .
history
The name is derived from the source near Glashagen .
The history of the Glashäger fountain can be traced back to the Middle Ages. The monks of the Doberan Cistercian monastery already appreciated the water in the Glashäger spring valley, which they used for brewing beer and as Easter water , among other things . The commercial development of the fountain took place in 1908. When the Imperial Patent Office raised it to the status of a trademark in 1910, the foundation stone for the development of a branded article was laid. After the division of Germany , the company was expropriated and nationalized. It developed into the second largest well operation in the GDR . After the fall of the Wall , the well was privatized and changed hands several times. Glashäger has been part of theHassia group of companies .
