Stained glass Champigneulle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The glass painting Champigneulle was founded in 1868 by Charles Champigneulle (1820–1882) in Metz .

Charles Champigneulle bought the long-established Maréchal stained glass and opened branches in Brussels (1874) and London (1881). The eldest son Charles Champigneulle (1853–1905) took over the Coffetier company in Paris in 1881 and the youngest son Emmanuel Champigneulle (1860–1942) started his own business as a glass painter in Bar-le-Duc .

Champigneulle stained glass was very innovative, introducing new forms to stained glass, inspired by symbolism and Japan.
