Glass Casket is an American metalcore band from Winston-Salem, North Carolina .
history
Glass Casket formed in the summer of 2001 after several members of the band Narayan were fired. They were completed when bassist Sid Menon joined the band a few months later. A first demo recording was released the following year under the name Gadrel with the title To Cherish a Falsity . This demo caught the attention of the music label Abacus Recordings and a recording deal was signed.
The debut album We Are Gathered Here Today was finally produced by Jamie King ( Between the Buried and Me , Beloved) and released in February 2004. In 2006 the album was re- released.
In June 2006 the second studio album Desperate Man's Diary was released.
Guitarist Dustie Waring and drummer Blake Richardson are active members of Between The Buried And Me.
style
A categorization of the music style of Glass Casket turns out to be difficult. Their music combines the styles of metalcore , mathcore and deathcore and also shows parallels to the band Between the Buried and Me.
Vocally typical guttural singing is used. Adam Cody rarely uses his voice clearly.
