Broken glass villa
The broken glass villa or Ostuzzi villa is an extraordinary residential building in Passau .
The villa of the Italian builder Aristide Ostuzzi from Passau in the Ostuzzistraße named after him was built under his own guidance. Ostuzzi was able to complete his work on September 9, 1902.
The building combines a wide variety of style elements in the spirit of eclecticism . In particular, borrowings from the architecture of the Italian Renaissance and Italian Baroque dominate. At the same time, transitions to Art Nouveau can be seen.
The building has a dwelling and two bay windows . The lavish decor made of stucco, glass, porcelain, terracotta and mortar on all facades is extremely unusual.
In 2000 the dilapidated house was carefully restored. The two tower helmets, which had to be removed due to damage, could also be put back on.
