Gleniffer , also known as Glenpatrick , was a whiskey distillery in Elderslie , Renfrewshire , Scotland . The brandy produced was therefore assigned to the Lowlands whiskey region . In the 19th century, Gleniffer was one of the factors responsible for the growth of the Elderslie settlement.

The distillery was built in 1825 by Alexander Speirs, Laird of Elderslie under the name Glenpatrick and initially leased to James Hodge who, however, terminated the contract a few years later. In the following decades the distillery saw various tenants until William King went bankrupt in 1854. Until, depending on the literature, operations were idle in 1858 or 1860 when J. Morrison took over the company and renamed it Gleniffer . In 1887 the business came to Scotch Whiskey Distillers ( SWD ) and was closed in 1894.

All buildings have since been demolished and the former distillery has left no traces. At its former location there is now a private garden.

When Alfred Barnard visited the distillery as part of his major whiskey tour in 1885, it had an annual production capacity of 70,000  gallons of a malt whiskey . There were two stills available, but their capacity and use are not described in detail.
