Glenis Willmott.

Lady Glenis Willmott (* 4. March 1951 in hordes , County Durham ) is a British politician of the Labor Party .

Life

Willmott studied medical engineering at Nottingham Trent University . From 1969 to 1990 she worked for the National Health Service at King's Mill and Mansfield Hospital . In 1990 she worked for the British trade union GMB . As the successor to Phillip Whitehead , Willmott moved into the European Parliament in 2006 . In 2017 she announced her withdrawal from parliament and resigned on October 2. Willmott is married and lives in Leicestershire .

EU parliamentarian

From 2009 to 2014 Willmott was a member of the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and a delegation to the EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee. She served as a deputy on the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and on the delegation for relations with the United States.
