Glenn Östh

Glenn Östh (born April 8, 1956 ) is a Swedish table tennis coach who also trained the German national team in the 1990s.

Career

Glenn Östh was the national coach of Sweden from 1987 to 1990. With the Swedish men's team, he was world champion in Dortmund in 1989, ahead of China. From 1990 to the end of 1991 he worked as a trainer for the German Bundesliga club ATSV Saarbrücken . In mid-1997, the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB) signed Glenn Östh as the national coach for men. He looked after the team at the 1998 European Championships . Although his contract ran until 2000, he left the DTTB in September 1998 for family reasons. His successor was Dirk Schimmelpfennig .

Today he is a member of the National Olympic Committee of Sweden .

In 1992, together with Jens Fellke, he published the book How do you become number 1 in table tennis? - Secret of Swedish world champions. (Meyer & Meyer Sport, Aachen 1992, ISBN 978-3891241585 ).

Private

Glenn Östh is married and has two children. He also plays golf.
