GlobalSecurity.org is a non-commercial think tank whose team offers analyzes and reports on security issues, in particular the armed forces , weapons of mass destruction , intelligence services , internal security and space travel .

It was created in December 2000 as an offshoot of the Internet presence of the Federation of American Scientists . Political scientist John E. Pike is the founder and director of the institute .

In the opinion of Forbes, GlobalSecurity.org is one of the best Internet sites because of its extensive analyzes and the satellite images made available .
