history
The company was founded in 1967 by George W. Thorpe as the National Data Corporation (NDC). NDC initially handled authorization processes for credit cards. The company went public as early as 1968 . In the following decades, NDC developed into a major service provider in the field of payment processing. In September 2019, the takeover of the competitor Total System Services was completed.
