Laucha Bell Museum
The Bell Museum Laucha has been a museum since 1932 in the premises of the former Ulrich bell foundry in Laucha an der Unstrut , which had existed there since 1732. Bells were cast there until 1911.
museum
After master bell founder Franz August Schilling donated the bell foundry to the municipality of Laucha with the condition that it be kept as a museum, it has been open to the public since 1932. Bells, tools and forms give the visitor an authentic insight into the history of the bell-casting craft.
This bell foundry shows historical working techniques as described by Friedrich Schiller in the song about the bell . The Ulrich bell foundry was not only active in Laucha, but also operated a bell foundry in Apolda . There is also a bell museum in Apolda .
