Glopeneset (Norwegian for canyon nose ) is a mainly icy promontory in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It rises on the south side of the Orvinfjella and the Glopeflya .
The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named the foothills, mapped it using surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
