The Gluschenko TWD-10 ( Russian ТВД-10 , also OKB Omsk TWD-10 ,) is a Russian turboprop engine from the Omsk Experimental Design Bureau for Engines ( OMKB ).

history

Under the military designation GTD-3 it was developed as a shaft turbine for the Kamow Ka-25 helicopter and had its first run in 1959. As GTD-3TL and GTD-3U it was used for stationary use, but also in vehicles. The development of the turboprop offshoot of this engine with an output of around 600 to 800 kW began in the 1960s for the Beriev Be-30 , which had its maiden flight in 1968. The TWD-10B version of the engine was also used on Antonov An-3 and Antonow An-28 aircraft . Based on the TWD-10B, the Polish PZL-10W shaft turbine was developed, which was used in the PZL W-3 Sokół helicopter and of which around 400 were built. It was also used in Skat motor boats under the designation TWD-10M . Later the further developed and with over 1100 kW much more powerful version TWD-20 was added.

Technical specifications

The PZL-10W as an example of a TWD-10 has a six-stage axial and a single-stage radial compressor , which is driven by a two-stage turbine . The drive turbine of the output shaft is designed in one stage. The engine has a length of 1.88 m and a weight of 141 kg.
