Gnaeus Octavius Rufus was a 3rd century BC Roman politician. Chr.
As the first of his family, the plebeian gens Octavia , he received an office in the cursus honorum . He was, probably around 230 BC. BC (perhaps as early as 254 BC), quaestor .
His son Gnaeus Octavius , who lived in 205 BC. He was praetor , founded a branch of the family that provided numerous consuls in the 2nd and 1st centuries . Another son, Gaius Octavius ( military tribune 205 BC), was the great-great-grandfather of the future emperor Augustus .
