Gnaeus Pinarius Cornelius Severus

Gnaeus Pinarius Cornelius Severus was a Roman politician and senator .

Severus came from the gens Pinaria, an old patrician family that existed as early as the 5th century BC. Held several consulates. He was probably the grandson of Gnaeus Pinarius Cornelius Clemens and belonged to the college of Salii Collini , which was only accessible to patricians . Emperor Trajan promoted him, on whose proposal he obtained the bursary and praetur . In 112 he held the office of a suffect consul . He also held the offices of augur and the Rex sacrorum, which was also reserved for patricians .
