Go! Cam
The Go! Cam (model PSP-300) is an attachable digital camera from Sony for the PlayStation Portable game console . In Japan, the camera was released on November 2, 2006 under the name Chotto Shot (ち ょ っ と シ ョ ッ ト "quick shot") for 5000 yen (including taxes). In the countries with the PAL standard, it was released as Go! Cam on May 29, 2007 .
The camera is attached to the USB port on the top of the PSP using a screw . It is a 1.3 megapixel camera , which takes photos in a resolution of up to 1280 by 960 pixels , similar to the cameras in older cell phones . The camera can also be used to record videos including audio tracks in MP4 format, which can be viewed on the PSP. Depending on the firmware, recordings of up to 15 seconds in length (up to firmware 2.82) or in a length only determined by the capacity of the memory stick are possible. Since the camera can be swiveled through 180 °, it is possible to record both the area behind the PSP and yourself.
In the Japanese edition, the camera comes with a UMD that can be used to edit photos and videos. Up to firmware 2.82 of the PSP this UMD must be inserted in order to be able to use the camera. From firmware 3.00 the UMD is no longer necessary for recording, only for editing the recordings. The European version does not contain this UMD, however, the software called Go! Edit has been available online since May 25, 2007, including a brief instruction.
The PSP camera can be used via the "Camera" menu item in the "Photo" menu (from firmware 3.00). The photos and videos are saved in the appropriate folder on the memory stick and can therefore be viewed using the PSP menu.
Model PSP-450 only has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels. This is included with the game Invizimals and requires at least OFW 6.10.
