Goani accounts
Goanikontes is an oasis and farm in Namibia . It is located as a river water oasis on the Swakop in the middle of the Namib , but also has open spring water (spring water oasis).
Vegetables were already grown on the farm of the same name at the beginning of the 20th century . Here was also a station of the protection force , which also planted the rubber trees and palm trees that can still be seen there today . Lieutenant Schwabe is said to have built a military station here as early as 1893.
In the area, the very rare boltwoodite is found in well-formed crystals. Goanikontes is not far from the Welwitschia Drive , which is also interesting for tourists, and the lunar landscape . The historic farmhouse houses a restaurant that is part of an accommodation business.
