The Goethe street in the district town of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia is an ancient city road . It is named after Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , a German poet.

Goethestrasse, which branches off from August-Klotz-Strasse , ends at Rurstrasse . From February 1, 1892 to November 3, 1903, this street was called Weststrasse . Goethestrasse was built around 1880 when the city center expanded to the west.

The Düren tax office is located on the corner of Holzstrasse and Goethestrasse in a building from the 1950s. The original building from 1924 was destroyed in the air raid on November 16, 1944 . The residential building at Goethestraße 14 is a listed building, see list of architectural monuments in Düren . The Jugendlichtspiele, a cinema , in the house at Goethestrasse 3 in the city center existed from 1927 until it was destroyed in the Second World War . The Hotel Kaiserhof stood on the corner of Schillerstrasse until 1977 .
