Gogan (also: Chiiyorugan-tō , Chiyorugan ) is a motu of the Rongelap Atoll of the Pacific republic of the Marshall Islands .
geography
Gogan is on an eastern arm of the atoll. The reef crown is very narrow at this point, as it is on the neighboring island of Mellu to the east . As a result, there are several passages to the lagoon in a short distance: Northeast Pass (Hokuto), Gogan Pass (Chiyorugan Passage) and Enybarbar Pass (Enibarubaru Passage) at the neighboring island of Kieshiechi to the west . The island is uninhabited and has been contaminated with nuclear power since the Bravo bomb was tested for nuclear weapons .
