Goirshof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Goirshof even Goyrhof, Goerhof or Ghoirhof called manor , stood at Nörvenich in Düren , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The Goirshof stood near "Johannes Junker" between the no longer existing Mühlengraben and the Neffelbach to the right of the way to Hochkirchen . It is possible that the farm was owned by the Knights von Goyr, who lived in Wissersheim , but this can no longer be proven. In 1630 numerous goods were donated to Baron Johann Otto von Gymnich . At that time they were called the Stockemer Erbhof, which Hans von Goir now has . That is why the manor was also called Stockemer Hof.

The farm and an attached mill were destroyed by fire and not rebuilt. The location in the Neffelbachaue was still clearly visible in the 1940s. After heavy rainfall or heavy snowmelt there was a pond the size of a football field.

In the church registers between 1625 and 1669 the farm and the residents are mentioned several times. Pastor Conradus Flocken (1646–1694) particularly blessed the court during the Corpus Christi procession due to a foundation. He went to the brook bridge and gave the sacramental blessing after prayers . This continued until 1912.

The court has not appeared since the middle of the 17th century.
