Goldsteig Ultrarace
The Goldsteig Ultra Race is a running distance of 661 km, the longest non-stop ultra - trail running in Germany and follows the entire length of the long-distance route Goldsteig .
Route and regulations
The Goldsteig Ultrarace has been held annually in autumn since 2014 and follows the Bavarian Goldsteig long-distance hiking trail. The time limit for the 661 km long route with a total of 19,000 meters of altitude is 192 hours, the starting point is Marktredwitz , the finish is in Neunburg vorm Wald .
Since 2016, the main race has been expanded to include a 166 km long trail run with 3,300 meters of altitude and a time limit of 48 hours. In 2017, a 488 km long trail run on a section of the Goldsteig with 15,500 meters of altitude and a time window of no more than 144 hours and a 16-day hiking marathon over the entire route will be held for the first time.
The participants carry a GPS and mandatory equipment with them during the run . They are responsible for their own care. Time recording takes place in stages at checkpoints.
