The gold stone for dog sauces

The Goldstein bei Hundesossen is the second man-made Goldstein bei Hundesossen, 700 meters from the former Goldstein, which was blown up during the construction of a railway line in 1885. There are also two legends and a ballad about the stone .

history

According to local history researcher FA Borggreve, the stone indicates a former Celtic execution site .

In addition, the stone used to stand for the creepy, as the legend was probably created by gases escaping from the marshy ground that will- o'-the- wisps were up to mischief there.

Since there was no paved road in the dark area at that time, people had to run their horses over the muddy ground.

In 1885 the former stone was blown up during the construction of a railway line, and a new gold stone was erected 700 meters further.

Say

There are two different legends about the Goldstein: On the one hand there are supposed to be the will-o'-the-wisps called "souls", which were probably caused by gases escaping from the boggy ground.

On the other hand, the well-known legend, which says that on Walpurgis Night the witch and the devil , drunk with mead , chased across the sky, whereupon the witch became cocky and challenged the devil to jump from one mountain to the other . If the witch should win, she should get his gold treasure from the devil. He gathered up all his courage, jumped and hit his head, his elbows and his knees against the rock, which is to be occupied by five depressions in the rock. Thereupon the devil cursed his gold treasure under the gold stone. There is also a ballad about this legend.
