Golem is a death metal band from Berlin . The music contains influences from black metal as well as grindcore .
history
The band was founded in 1989 in Buckow in Brandenburg (then still GDR). The two car accidents in which Max Grützmacher was killed in 1992 and Jens Malwitz in 1993 were particularly tragic for the band. However, the band continued and got a contract for their debut album with the East German label Invasion Records . After the label stopped working, they were back without a contract. However, the high quality of the first album made it easier to get a new record deal. The band is currently under contract with the German label Nuclear Blast .
