The Golem chair wheel is one of the first motor scooters and was manufactured by the German manufacturer DKW .

History and technology

The air-cooled 118 cm³ two-stroke engine developed by Hugo Ruppe was installed in the Golem designed by Ernst Eichler, lying in the middle of the monotube frame and powered the 14-inch rear wheel via a chain. The front wheel of the same size was sprung via a pushed short swing arm with an auxiliary fork. The Golem was manufactured and sold by Eichler & Co. , Berlin 11.

"With the small wheels and the comfortable seat, it was an exception on the two-wheeler market."

After just one year of construction, the Golem was discontinued in favor of the newly designed successor model Lomos chair wheel . The unfortunate naming with Golem , a human-like being from Jewish mysticism , is said to have contributed to this .
