Gonçal mayos

Gonçal Mayos Solsona (* 1957 in Vilanova de la Barca near Lleida ) is a Spanish and Catalan philosopher, essayist and professor at the University of Barcelona .

Gonçal Mayos deals with Nietzsche , Hegel , Herder , Kant , Descartes and D'Alembert and he dedicates himself to the study of the great modern movements ( rationalism , enlightenment , romanticism , philosophy of suspicion ) and their influence up to postmodernism . Mayos coined the term “macrophilosophy” to characterize his comprehensive, long-term and interdisciplinary - philosophical, epistemological, sociological and political - analyzes.

He has written numerous books and articles. Is director of the OPEN-PHI (Open Network for Postdisciplinarity and Macrophilosophy) and member of the GIRCHE (International Research Group “Culture, History and State”) and chairman of the philosophical forum Liceu Joan Maragall de Filosofia in the Ateneu of Barcelona.
