Gongkar Künga Namgyel ( gong dkar kun dga 'rnam rgyal ; born 1432; died 1496) is the founder of the Sakya secondary school of the Gongkar tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and of the Gongkar Chöde (1464) ( gong dkar chos sde ) or Gongkar monastery Dorjeden (gong dkar rdo rje gdan) or Dorjeden Gompa (rdo rje gdan dgon pa) , d. H. its most important spiritual place and main site of the Lamdre ( lam 'bras ) tradition of the Sakya school, in Gonggar (Gongkar) in Tibet . Lamdre are the "highest and most profound oral teachings of the Sakya tradition".
