Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (born February 12, 1980 ) is an Argentinian professional windsurfer . He celebrated his greatest success so far in 2018 when he won the first ever foil world championship title.

Life

Costa Hoevel began his career in Olympic windsurfing. He was between 1996 and 2000 team member Carlos Espínola , which both at the Olympic Games in 1996 and in 2000 the silver medal in the Mistral One Design won. He also became Junior World Champion in this discipline in 1997.

From 2002 he also took part in races of the Windsurf World Cup . He was able to place himself in the top 15 of the slalom rankings several times and also achieved places in the top three after his first podium in 2009 in Podersdorf . The highlight of his career so far, however, was the 2018 season . Here, Costa Hoevel won the first-ever Foil World Championship just ahead of Sebastian Kördel .
