Google Data Studio is software from Google LLC for the management and visualization of mass data . In contrast to Google Analytics , custom and interactive reports and dashboards can be created here. The software is aimed at inexperienced users with its simpler operation.

Google Data Studio is part of the Google Analytics 360 Suite, which provides several tools for analysis and can be called up as a web application via the web browser . The tool is mainly used in the areas of search engine marketing , search engine optimization and e-commerce .

Functions

Once a data source has been added, it can be observed in real time with various visualization options. Various filters are also available for this (e.g. for the period or calls). You can also mix and match data sources and generate reports from the data. It is also possible to add graphics, text and images. The dashboards can be edited and managed online by several people.

In May 2016 the tool was released in a free beta version . In the course of development, it has been improved and revised many times, and requests from the network community have been implemented. On September 21, 2018, the software was officially released for free for everyone. As part of the General Data Protection Regulation , the platform's terms of use were heavily adapted in 2018.
