Gorete Borges Tavares Semedo (born October 5, 1996 ) is a sprinter from São Tomé and Príncipe .

Athletic career

Gorete Semedo gained her first experience in international championships at the Jogos da Lusofonia 2014 in Goa , where she was eliminated in the first round of the 100-meter run with 12.88 seconds. The following year she took part in the Africa Games in Brazzaville for the first time and was eliminated there with 12.62 s in the lead. At the 2017 World Championships in London , she did not get into another round with 12.46 s and was eliminated as seventh of her preliminary run . Two years later she took part again in the Africa Games in Rabat and was disqualified there over 100 meters in the semi-finals, while she was eliminated in the 200-meter run with 24.50 s in the preliminary round.
