Gorgos (tyrant of Ambrakia)
Gorgos or Gordios was the son of Kypselos , the tyrant of Corinth and a concubine. Gorgos was the tyrant of Ambrakia .
Together with a Corinthian army, Gorgos and Kypselos moved to the Ambracian Gulf and conquered the country. Gorgos founded the cities of Ambrakia and Anaktorio . He pierced an isthmus and made Lefkas , which he now called Leukas , into an island.
Gorgos had two sons, Periander and Psammetich . After his death, Periander became the tyrant of Ambrakia.
