Gosen-Wakashū ( Jap. 後撰和歌集 also: 後撰集 Gosen shū , dt as "gleaning".) Is a Waka - anthology of the early Heian period of Japan . It is part of the collection from 21 eras and was commissioned by 62nd Tennō , by Murakami (926-967), as the second imperial anthology and completed in 951. The compilers of the anthology were the five members of the Nashitsubo no gonin 梨 壺 の 五 人 : Ōnakatomi no Yoshinobu (922-991), Kiyohara no Motosuke (908-990), Minamoto no Shitagō (911-983), Ki no Tokibumi and Sakanoue no Mochiki . The anthology comprises 20 roles with a total of 1426 waka.

The name Gleanings ( Late Collection ) comes from the fact that the poems were supposed to be included in the Kokin-wakashū , but were then rejected due to qualitative deficiencies.
