Minamoto no Shitagō ( Japanese 源 順 ; * 911 ; † 983 ) was a Japanese waka poet, scholar and nobleman of the early Heian period . He was the compiler of Wamyō Ruijushō , the first dictionary of the Japanese language still preserved today , which was organized according to semantic keywords. For his outstanding poetic skills, he is one of the 36 immortals in poetry .

The poems he left behind are published in the "Minamoto no Shitagō Collection" ( 源 順 集 , Minamoto no Shitagō Shū ). Among them is the Ametsuchi no Uta . Some scholars ascribe the authorship of the Taketori Monogatari and the Utsubo Monogatari to him.

As one of the "five members of the pear chamber" ( Nashitsubo no gonin ) he assisted in the compilation of the Gosen Wakashū and of writings in Kun reading for the Man'yōshū .
