Got milk? ( English literally Do you have milk ? ) is the slogan of a well-known advertising campaign for the US dairy industry . The 1993 campaign was originally designed for the California Milk Board.

The advertising campaign

The budding actor Sean Whalen was first seen from October 1993. In the first television commercials, ordinary citizens appeared in various situations who could not find milk to wash down after a dry or sticky meal and then came up with the slogan “ Got Milk? ”Desperately turned to the viewer.

Hundreds of sports, media and entertainment celebrities and even cartoon characters like The Simpsons and Batman later appeared in the ad campaign. In printed advertisements, the celebrities were shown with a milk beard . The slogan for this was initially “ Where's your mustache? ”(German:“ Where is your beard? ”), But later the well-known slogan“ Got Milk? ”Resorted to.

Since people with lactose intolerance react to milk with health problems, the economically successful campaign has been criticized on various occasions as being misleading. In the United States, a large proportion of the population is lactose intolerant.
