Gotelind Muller-Saini

Gotelind Müller-Saini (* 1963 ) is a German sinologist.

Life

She studied Sinology, Japanology and Ethnology at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (1982–1984), Chinese language (modern and classical) at the Fu-Jen-Universität (1984–1985), Sinology, Japanology and Ethnology at the LMU Munich (1985-1988). After receiving her doctorate in 1992 (Dr. phil.), She was a lecturer at the Institute for International Business Administration at Furtwangen University from 1996 to 1999 , specializing in East Asia. After her habilitation in Sinology in Freiburg im Breisgau in 2002 and appointment as a private lecturer , she has been Professor of Sinology at Heidelberg University since 2004

Her main areas of research are modern Chinese history and history of ideas and Sino-Japanese-Western cultural exchange.
