development

Technically, it was almost identical to its predecessor G4-61 , but had wheels with a larger tread diameter, 785 mm instead of 760 mm. Most of the G4-65 were delivered without a conductor's seat . The vehicles from 1967 all had ESW couplings and devices for conductors-free operation. The designation G4-67 can also be found in the literature for this variant. Despite the development of the G4-65, G4-61s were built for export to the Soviet Union until 1966 . The railcars were mainly delivered to Erfurt, Leipzig , Potsdam and Rostock. A total of 99 pieces were made. The building site Gotha also acquired some of the articulated wagons, seven of them with a larger number of seats for the Thuringian Forest Railway to Tabarz and Waltershausen . The Tw 180 of the Potsdam tram was the last tram multiple unit built in Gotha for the GDR.

Received vehicles

There are three railcars in Erfurt and one each in Gotha , Leipzig , Nordhausen and Potsdam . A car is parked in Naumburg .
