The Gothawagen T59E / B59E (relation T rieb- or B eiwagen, construction year 19 59 ) were tram - instinctual or sidecar of VEB Waggon Gotha , in cities of the GDR and the Soviet Union were in use.

Changes to the predecessor

For one-way vehicles:

  • only one driver's cab
  • On the left-hand side, windows without a hinged upper part were installed on the platforms
  • the line number boxes on the side were also still there on the left

Other names

The factory designation is T59E for railcars and B59E for sidecars. Since a railcar of this type was only delivered to an enterprise in the GDR in 1960, the names ET60, T60 or T 60 E can also be found in the literature. The Erfurt variant only had one row of seats on each side and is called T2-60 or B2- 60 designated.

There is also the designation T59 for late T57 (i.e. two-way car). There is no confirmation that this designation was also used at the factory. There is probably a mix-up with the designation T F  59, which was used in Berlin for T57.
