Gottfried Schindler (born June 28, 1904 ; † after 1968) was a Swiss architect .

From 1923 to 1928 he completed a degree in architecture at the ETH Zurich . In 1935 he founded an architecture office on Bärengasse in Zurich, which mainly dealt with building shelters and also planned the shelters for the Federal Palace. He held Swiss and German patents for small bunkers that were absolutely safe to hit.

After the Second World War, together with the building contractor Ernst Göhner , he developed the element construction system known as "Göhner-Schindler", in which components were prefabricated and put together on the construction site.

In the Swiss Army , Gottfried Schindler achieved the rank of colonel .
