Gottfried von Rechede

Gottfried von Rechede (* in the 12th century; † March 8, 1263 or 1264 ) was Vice Dominus and Canon in Münster .

Life

Gottfried von Rechede came from the Munsterland knightly family von Rechede, which had its origins at the end of the 11th century in the Landesburg Rechede near Olfen . He was the son of the burgrave and knight Gottfried von Rechede and his wife Wieburgis. In 1245 it is mentioned in a document as Godefrido celerario . As a cellar , he was responsible for the economic management of the cathedral chapter . In 1249, as Vice-Dominus, together with the Archdeacon of Amelsbüren, he granted the church in Venne the right to burial and baptism . Representing the sovereign was associated with the office of vice-dominus . Gottfried became archdeacon at Everswinkel and remained in these offices until his death.
