Gottlieb Stengel

Gottlieb Stengel (born May 5, 1897 in Waldstetten , † 1981 in Stuttgart ) was a German graduate farmer, agriculture teacher and for decades director of the agricultural school in Hohenheim .

Live and act

After school in Waldstetten and studying at the Nagold teacher training college , Gottlieb Stengel was drafted into military service, suffered an injury and, after recovering, was initially an elementary school teacher. From 1939 he studied at the Hohenheim Agricultural University and joined the Florian Geyer comradeship . After completing the diploma examination, he devoted himself to the structural change in agriculture in Württemberg and started his dissertation: Structural changes in rural agriculture in the Balingen Oberamt since 1880: An example of the transition from agricultural. for industrial employment , in Hohenheim for Dr. agr. PhD.

After 1945 he was involved in the development of agricultural vocational schools in Württemberg. As a senior agricultural councilor, he was appointed director of the agricultural school, which he remained until his retirement in 1963. In addition to normal school operations, he was also the editor of the school magazine Der Landbaumann and the contact person for the former graduates. He was also active in the Hohenheim university sector, where he accompanied student life and was, for example, the long-time treasurer and student residence administrator of the Corps Germania.
