The Gowlland Range is an approximately 58 km 2 mountain range in the Canadian province of British Columbia . It is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Victoria in the south of Vancouver Island and is part of the Vancouver Island Ranges .
The ridge lies on the Saanich Peninsula and runs from northeast to northwest. To the northwest it is bounded by the Finlayson Arm of the Saanich Inlet . To the northeast, Brendwood Bay ends the expansion. Its southwest end is roughly marked by Highway 1 , while the foot of Mount Work is the southeasternmost point. Part of the Gowlland Range along the Finlayson Arm is part of the Gowlland Tod Provincial Park .
At 449 m, Mount Work is the highest mountain in the mountain range. Other important mountains in the chain are Jocelyn Hill with a height of 434 m and Mount Finlayson with a height of 419 m .
