Goyaz

Goyaz is originally the name of an indigenous people in the Midwest of Brazil who lived in the headwaters of the Rio Vermelho .

In honor of this people, the first town in this area was baptized Villa Boa de Goiaz . Today Goiás stands for the federal city of Goiás and the city is now commonly called Goiás Velho (old Goiás). The name Goyaz can still be found today in many product names and company names.
